Bodybuilding Workouts

January 25th, 2012

Bodybuilding workouts, along with some well applied nutrition, is the cornerstone of any weightlifting regimen that is going to be anywhere close to effective. Bodybuilding workouts increase stamina and strength while sculpting abs, biceps and triceps to a more powerful form. Workouts can be gut busting for maximum bulk or lighter routines to achieve definition and muscle tone.

The end result of any helpful bodybuilding workout is burning fat and the building of lean muscle mass. Hard gainers dive into intense workout sessions in an attempt to gain weight through fierce power lifting which build muscle tissues, but workout routines do not need to be physically demanding if you are not training for competition. Muscular development is achieved through regular exercise and the addition of dietary supplements that enhance the muscle building process.

Your bodybuilding workout should be tailored to your needs, if you are an athlete than there are workout programs that are specific to certain sports. While all are full body workouts a baseball specific routine focuses on the upper body while the football players center on strength and explosiveness to gain an advantage on the field. Whatever the sport or the goals for your workout there is a routine out there to help you along your way. There are great sites to check out for your bodybuilding needs such as Vince Del Monte Fitness.

Body Building Diet

January 11th, 2012

A strict body building diet is required if you plan on maximizing your workouts. Weight gain through muscle development is not achieved through the average diet of fast or convenient foods. A correct ratio of proteins (40%), carbohydrates (40%) and beneficial fats (20%) needs to be adhered to in order to ensure the development of lean muscle mass. It works by optimizing workouts so they are more effective and efficient.

Most nutritionists advocate the consumption of 5 or 6 smaller meals instead of 3 larger ones when on any type of body building diet as this provides increased metabolism which in turn burns fat. And if you wait longer than 4-5 hours between meals your body reverts to feeding itself on lean muscle tissue that actually increases fat. All three components of the body building diet work together to enhance the athlete’s experience.

Drink plenty of water!!! The body is comprised of nearly 70% water. This includes muscle cells, so hydration is vitally important. It also cleanses your body while helping perform necessary bodily functions and curbs the appetite. Supplements have become a staple of most body building diets as they provide increased energy and help realize the full potential of every workout.

Bodybuilding Routines

January 4th, 2012

Bodybuilding routines vary considerably depending on the goals that are hoped to be achieved as well as by which muscle group is to be targeted. There are routines to build muscle, target abs or promote strength in the legs, shoulders, arms and chest. A routine for a serious bodybuilder will encompass all of these workouts and many others to develop all muscle groups evenly.

Triceps, biceps, pecs and glutes are all specific muscle groups that are isolated by various bodybuilding routines and the end result of any workout is fat loss and weight gain through increased muscle mass. Focus on technique and form as strenuous workouts with poor execution is not only less efficient but also dangerous as you run the risk of increased injury.

Do not feel intimidated if you do not have a gym membership. Perfectly good bodybuilding routines can be constructed at home. You really only need a few items such as dumb bells and a starter weight bench. Warm up and stretching is important when attempting to undergo any bodybuilding routine and keep an eye on your nutrition. A key to maximizing bodybuilding routines is what you take into your body as it is difficult to achieve the results you desire with exercise alone. A good reference point is Vince Del Monte Fitness.

Bodybuilding Tips

December 28th, 2011

While bodybuilding tips are many and varied one of the most important is to set goals. Determine if you are going to build your body as a career or do just enough to keep yourself in good health and shape. It will make an enormous difference in the routine you will engage in.

Another of the useful bodybuilding tips would be to choose your equipment wisely. Looking long term, you are going to become very familiar with these weights and machinery choices so research your purchases carefully.

Bodybuilding tips to develop larger and more powerful muscles would include gradually increasing your workout routines. Also vary your routines so your body does not become comfortable.

A bodybuilding tip many athletes find beneficial is to go backwards. Counting off reps can be intimidating, so instead of counting 1-2-3 count back 3-2-1. This may be psychological but it has been proven to help. Keep intense workouts to one hour or less to eliminate undue wear and tear on your body with little or no additional benefit.

The last of the essential bodybuilding tips is to relax as this is vital for your muscles to repair themselves once your workouts are over. Visit sites such as Vince Del Monte Fitness for solid tips on bodybuilding, Amazon.com for tips on the proper clothing and Drugstore.com for a variety of supplemental choices.

Natural Bodybuilding

December 14th, 2011

Natural bodybuilding is the practice of increasing muscle mass without the use of illegal or banned substances. It is the course of action that all bodybuilders should follow considering that little is known about the long term effects of performance enhancing drugs (PED) on the human body. There are many perfectly acceptable supplements that allow athletes to pack on lean muscle mass such as protein products and creatine, both of which are produced naturally in the body already.

Nutrition is the basis of natural bodybuilding and a strict diet in conjunction with the proper supplements, vitamins and minerals will give an athlete much of the fuel needed for the energy essential to obtain optimum results from workouts. Meal plans can be calculated to allow anywhere from 1500-3500 calories depending on your age, workout regimen and sex.

Natural bodybuilding is practiced by reputable athletic organizations that do not endorse or promote the use of illegal performance enhancing drugs. The World Natural Bodybuilding Federation (WNBF) as well as the International Natural Bodybuilding & Fitness Federation (INBF) are both worldwide leaders in natural bodybuilding and a wealth of information can be obtained from their sites.

Bodybuilding Workout Routines

December 7th, 2011

When planning your bodybuilding workout routines it is critical to take many key points into consideration. Unless you are considering bodybuilding as a career than most people can get away with 30-60 minutes a day working out to achieve tone, definition and burning fat. You don’t even need to be a member of your local gym although they certainly have everything that you need. By purchasing just a few basic items you can gain muscle and burn fat from the comfort of your home.

While working out for an hour a day isn’t going to be enough to give you that Schwarzenegger look, it will be enough to keep you in better than average shape and allow you to sculpt your body in fairly impressive fashion. You only need to carefully research and choose the bodybuilding workout routine that is right for you whether it be gym based or some barbells and old fashioned pushups, sit ups and squat thrusts.

Rest assured that there is a bodybuilding workout routine that you can customize to fit your needs. Just remember to exercise as many muscle groups as you can, including cardio work to get your heart rate up. Remember to increase your reps on a periodic basis (weekly perhaps) or you will never progress any farther than you are now. Check out sites such as Vince Del Monte Fitness for any needed information.

Bodybuilding Workout Plan

November 30th, 2011

The great thing about any bodybuilding workout plan is its ability to be customized to your needs. No athlete is restricted to any other weightlifters plan for success, in fact, the best routines are constructed by studying the workout plans of others and then picking and choosing what is right for you and your needs. Not everyone wants to be Mr. America; but just want to burn some fat and pack on a bit of lean muscle mass.

Many online sites can provide you pertinent information on exercises, their usefulness, recommended reps and safety issues that are related to working out. The bodybuilding workout plan that you choose is personal to you and the goals that you have set for yourself. By targeting specific muscle groups that you feel need the most work you can modify your body on your own terms.

Any bodybuilding workout plan should be approved by your family physician if that is appropriate, if you are middle age or greater for example. Start off slow and gradually work your way up to greater reps. You will more than likely feel a bit of soreness the next morning, but this too will pass and once it does it shouldn’t be an issue again as long as you are faithful to your routine. Or, of course, unless you introduce new exercises that work different muscle groups.

Vince Del Monte Fitness has a good site with good information in all areas of bodybuilding.

Bodybuilding Clothes

November 23rd, 2011

Bodybuilding clothes have evolved greatly in recent years. Thankfully, spandex and leg warmers have fallen by the wayside as far as gym wear goes. The styles today tends to emphasize function over form and while tank tops and gym shorts are still popular they are a far cry from the clothing of as little as 5 years ago Whatever your workout routine there is an outfit to compliment your style.

Today’s bodybuilding clothes are not only fashionable but are manufactured to help the athlete during their workouts by being much more rugged and constructed of “breathable” materials to maintain body temperature. Aside from these innovations there are loads of online sites that stock many different types of workout clothing from muscle shirts to shorts to sweat suits to socks and shoes.

There are even designer collections to choose from that allow you to coordinate and accessories all of your athletic wear piece by piece so at least you’ll always be a fashion plate at gyms everywhere. Bodybuilding clothes do reflect the personality of the people that wear them and companies such as Hotbodz, Pitbull and Otomix offer a wide variety of clothing to fit every athletic need and allow you to show off that newly pumped and toned body. Check out Amazon.com for a great variety of clothes for bodybuilding.

Bodybuilder Workout

November 16th, 2011

The optimum bodybuilder workout combines many different lifestyle aspects that blend together to form the fine physical specimen that you long to be. Achieving and maintaining whatever particular level you choose, whether it be bodybuilding as a career or just obtaining some definition and tone, truly is a lifestyle as some type of routine will have to be followed for the larger part of your adult life.

A bodybuilder workout comes in many varieties. The majority of them focus on the chest and arms but it is important to incorporate different workout plans to target specific muscle groups. Many first time bodybuilders work to develop only certain areas such as abdominals or biceps while ignoring the rest of their bodies and the benefits of a good cardiovascular routine.

When planning a bodybuilder workout it is important to consider weight but keep in mind that unless you’re overweight to begin with you may actually gain weight due to increased muscle mass. This is one of the more appealing aspects of bodybuilding to the “scrawny” teenager who wants to bulk up. While physical development is more important than body weight it is recommended that you keep a fairly close accounting of your weight to make sure that the nutritional part of your workout routine is not getting out of control. Sites such as Amazon.com have a good assortment of clothes suitable for a workout or Vince Del Monte Fitness for information concerning the best bodybuilding workouts.
